About Us

The Back the Badge Political Action Committee was created by the members of the Fraternal Order of Police, Tulsa Lodge 93. The FOP Lodge 93 represents the men and women of the Tulsa Police Department.

Many members of the FOP Lodge 93 thought that it was important to get involved in the political process. The importance gained measure, because of a contractual agreement with the FOP and the City of Tulsa.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) has a provision that allows for the FOP to cooperate with the City of Tulsa in legislative matters that would benefit the FOP Lodge 93 and the City of Tulsa.

Through the years, many members of the FOP Lodge 93 took that provision in the CBA to heart and traveled to the State Legislature. It was there that the FOP Lodge 93 discovered how important it is to know and have a relationship with the Legislature. They realized that this would benefit the members of the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police, the Tulsa Police Department and the City of Tulsa.

As the years continued, the FOP Lodge 93 assisted the Legislative process by providing technical information to our elected officials. We then discovered how important our opinions could be in the political process. We then became more active and formed the Back the Badge PAC. The purpose of the BTB PAC was two fold. By creating the BTB PAC was to inform the Members of the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 93 and the Tulsa Police Deparment of the candidates and the offices they were seeking. The other was to provide a recommendation for endorsement after thorough research on each candidates.

We then realized that many candidates who understood law enforcement could use our help in the election process. When they have similar views on public safety we felt that they would be a great advocate for the law enforcement community, but also the citizens of Tulsa.

Today, the membership of the Back the Badge PAC has expanded to be more representative of the law enforcement community in the Tulsa area. It consists of citizens, Tulsa Police Officers and members of the FOP. Each share the value of a safe community and they appriciate an organization that is dedicated to advocate for the citizens and law enforcement.

Our goal is simple. We seek to help those who understand the law enforcement community. These are the individuals who will seek legislation to benefit the law enforcement community in the Tulsa area. We also seek these individuals because they want to provide a safe city, county and state. These individuals want to continue to strive to improve law enforcement.
